How many trees had to die?

Let me first say I know nothing about mailing or the habits of people when it comes to mail. I have no expertise in how it should be done and can only tell you what I’ve read and what I can imagine.  I got an email from a colleague  that sent me a tweet of someone who is part of the shock and awe campaign that is going on right now.  They asked is it necessary to receive a tree a week? That’s a hard question. If it didnt work would we do it or if we had other methods would it work better. Just the fact that we were able to track you down through twitter should give some indication that there may be a better way, one that allows us to know you.  Why don’t we add that field to our data. Yes, I’m suggesting we add a twitter field along with our email field.   This person follows around eighty people that may follow another 90 people wich may follow 300 people and so and and so on.

On the cover of fastcompany this week is Ashton Kutcher also known as @aplusk Great article on new media advertising. Everyone is talking about it but not all are doing it . I think it may be fear of losing the gray haired dude  who calls it some type of mojo. But how may trees have to die?I’ve actually been thinking a lot about this.  But how do y0u concentrate on the product along with the means of letting people know about it? If I ask that question does that mean we are doing too much? I’ll let  my boss figure that one out.  What am I supposed to do?

need to meet

I’m two days into the new blog. I feel like I didnt do anything today and I didnt start going through emails until I got home. That is not a good day. I had a little freak out moment when a bunch of the guys were in my office. Switching between creative…administrative..managerial…well you get the point. I felt I wasnt doing either of those well.  I just finished writing couple video ideas that I hope my partners will make better and I’m thinking about working on some photos.  I probably won’t ….I’ve been thinking of working out before bed but I think I will leave it for the morning and keep on my routine. As you can tell I’m starting to shut down.  I’m planning on visiting a church this weekend.  More on that later. (That’s what you say when you doing really want to talk about it but you like bringing it up)

So they’ve been saying that people more easily talk about financial problems. I’m not about to start but I was talking to Hannah the other day about a great This American Life that gave us a great break down of how we got to where we are. Dont worry it’s not a partisan thing. Christmas eve

Sometimes I feel like going through you tube listing to people sing.  I try to find ones that have the least viewers and listen to them. Right now I’m going though that song Falling slowly….Amber I remember what song it was. Anyway Ive watched about 12 now.  guilty pleasure I guess.  Three post in one day. Excessive I think.

The house is real quite right now. Ive got the dvr on pause going on 1 minutes right now.  I made a plea out to twitter world for anyone who would like to help me be a better writer. I was serious about that. So many of my friends are better at that than I. So very quiet.  They say the way to attract readers is to have a single focus.  Well I’m sorry but I’m all you got. There is your single focus.  Very quiet. You ever make a list of the things that you wish you were good at.  You know a real list. I’m not talking about a new years resolution but something that you truly wish you were good at..maybe you have been fooling people. Sometimes I wonder if I’ve got a lot of people fooled. I have a sneaky suspicion that there are people out there that think that about me.  I dont talk about work here and that on purpose.  I learned something this past year.  Or a motto of sorts. Just do good work.  No ambition to move up or be the best the top control of this or that just to do good work. It is pretty freeing.  To try to do good work. Sometimes it means stepping out of the way or swallowing your pride and suck it up..(I think that means the same thing) well you know what I mean.  It helps ok so that’s the work talk.  That’s not really that vague.

Trick or Treat

So today we had some great festivities at the old office today.   First I interviewed a guy for a position at work then we had hamburgers on the porch and a parade of costumes. Some enjoyed others looked like they would rather be sliding down a razor blade into a pool of lemon juice. Pictures will follow this blog. I have resurrected my twitter account.  Im trying out some more social interaction. We here at the office are also trying to be more social in our working.  You can see in the side I have added a new widget.  I know very exciting for you. Scott is my inspiration to it all.  The chair went on craiglist last night no hits yet. I’ll lower the price in a week.  if you would like me to place your stuff that you need to get rid of because it is no loger useful fill out the Dear Drew and I’ll put it up here and just maybe someone will need it. I’m hoping someone with no couch is looking for a couch.
