Obama meets Bartlet

I read this article back in the day and have since spent time looking for it. Aaron Sorkin a real writer wrote a short screen play of what he thinks would happen if the fictional Bartlet met Obama. so here it is.

Now that he’s finally fired up on the soup-line economy, Barack Obama knows he can’t fade out again. He was eager to talk privately to a Democratic ex-president who could offer more fatherly wisdom — not to mention a surreptitious smoke — and less fraternal rivalry. I called the “West Wing” creator Aaron Sorkin (yes, truly) to get a read-out of the meeting.

This is what he wrote:

BARACK OBAMA knocks on the front door of a 300-year-old New Hampshire farmhouse while his Secret Service detail waits in the driveway. The door opens and OBAMA is standing face to face with former President JED BARTLET.

BARTLET Senator.

OBAMA Mr. President.

BARTLET You seem startled.

OBAMA I didn’t expect you to answer the door yourself.

BARTLET I didn’t expect you to be getting beat by John McCain and a Lancôme rep who thinks “The Flintstones” was based on a true story, so let’s call it even

After I finished writing my school stuff at the old Starbucks I stopped by to see my old friend scott ross.  he sells mobile homes. now the only mobile anything i had ever been in are the trailers that every church i think has or the class room i taught in. i was just going to give a howdy do when he said we should take a tour of a couple. i have to admit i wanted to make sure every one knew that i wasnt looking for a mobile home. there is this stigma that has been placed on them. so i make sure i say that i live in a house in pelham. yeah i know pretty lame. anyway it was not what i expected. so to give full disclosure the pictures are below.

yes this is all one house. make you want to buy a mobile home doesnt it. All you need is some land and call my buddy up. In all seriousness this was something. i take it all back. Oh and this was the smaller of the two that we went in.

Well, this is definitely a night of history… we’ll see what kind of history as time goes along. I’m all for hugs & normal tv. No more bashing commercials. And hey – if that dude can get my house sold, that would be a massive surprise!

New Digs

So. I have moved.  Ive told a couple people that I’m here.  I think I needed some perspective. So here is what’s going on in my life.  So my pastor…hmm have’t said that in a while is really opening up my thoughts on what life is supposed to be.  I went through a couple years when I kinda of started living that way then I started to see stability and house and blah blah.  So now I sit in a house with stuff that I got so that I could have stuff to put in the house.  Well lately ive been cleaning out the closets and attics and etc. to get read of this stuff.   So I plan to lose my life. And maybe just maybe I’ll find it.  Lets see if I can get broke.

Problem

Ok so I had planned to go to Santa Fe. Here is the problem sometimes when you come up with something spontaneous you dont check dates. Anyway one of the biggest weekends of the year in Santa Fe is the “Indian market”  I blew it. Oh and they canceled my rafting trip.  Thanks travel insurance. So what does that mean.  Well since my hope was to get away going to a town that swells to 100,000 people plus exhibits doesnt really appeal to me.  Question to anyone out there. How would you like a house guest for 3 nights.  Aug 21-24. I’ll stay out of your way.  I need an unfamiliar place.  Let me know.  Its very sad. My cry for help.

Home Depot

ze lawn iz now complete. When buying a weed trimmer or whacker as I like to call it. Dont buy the cheapest thing you can find. I bought this yesterday.

While the price was right I fought with getting the line to advance. Now my right finger is rubbed raw from trying to take it apart and I wasted half of my life. I went back today and thankfully the great homedepot took it back. Good store never had a problem. Oh and right behind me in the return aisle was another person returning the very same whacker. Mightylite is mighty crap. I will also be dining with my neighbor this week. Need to know those people. Ok because i cooked breakfast my kitchen is a wreak. Oh here is a vague statement for you. Sometimes it is really over. Chew on that.

Sunday

So Im starting to get the house in order for me to be in and out this summer.  Mowed the lawn down made sure all laundry was done and cleaned out the fridge of things that I didnt know what they were. So that is complete. Im now sitting on a couch just waiting for monday to come.  I asked a friend last night if it easier for people to get together now than our parents time or harder.  Here is what I find interesting. Thee are a lot of nice people out there. The law of attraction is a strange thing. While nice attraction is difficult thing to have. I wonder what the things are that attract you to people. Is it a smell, a look, eyes, hands, laugh, personality. What are the things that attract you to other people.  I’m attracted to playful people.  Make your own definition of that. So on with the night.  I’m about to watch this film called recount. Its about the 2000 elections. I’m going to concentrate on that now.

Oprah’s big Give

The show is starting soon but Im right in the middle of across the universe. Ive never really listened to Beatles music. Anyone willing to share their music let me know. Any way. I will be joining Oprah as soon as the movie is over.

Ok so I ended watching the movie and dont really want to go back to it.  I had thought that i coudl live at that time that this movie was made. I think I woudl have like to watch I think.   I have realized something about myself. This isnt a recent thing.  I dont really write too well and not really good at math.  The stuff that Im good at. I think about that sometimes. What are those things that im good at. I Think that many times we assume that the things that come easy are the things we are good at I dont know i’ll have to think about that.  Many of the songs that were in this movie were song that i like and its sad to say that I didnt know that there were beatle songs.  Eric a friend of my is a great lover of the beatles.  I never really thought about it. I actually bought the album because of this movie.  I wouldnt say it was a good movie but it was a good sound track.  So Im working on a project for my church right now.   I dont know if its something Im good at.  So I enjoyed the movie. I really enjoyed it I did the old vod really made it easy.  I return to work this week.  It will be a good time I think.  In fact this week will be a good week. I havent spoken with some friends for a bit so I will try to reconnect with them.  The porch is still a great place for me. You dont buy a house for a porch right.

Well I guess oprah will have to wait.
