Drew, I'm with you. I have yet to see August Rush but it's on my must see list. Cinematic art is so much more then a passing fad. I think of Peter Jackson bringing Tolkien's fantasy to life. I become engrossed in the story and the struggles of the characters. It's emotional. I get sucked in and reflect on my own life.

I have tons of movie scores on my iPod. I love listening to them, the thoughts they bring out and emotions they invoke. I especially like the scores by John Williams. He expresses the essence of the characters on the film and does so on purpose. Who could forget the first time you hear Luke's theme in Episode IV of Star Wars? Or better yet the Imperial March which only appears in Episode I once. Amazing stuff.

First thing I ever saw on cable was "The Sword in the Stone" on Disney. I remember when the cable guy plugged it in. We where the only ones with cable in our "trailer trash" park. I lost it with Mr. Holland's Opus. Maybe cuz I went to school for music edu.

"Hey You Guys!!!"

Good meeting you at SLT this weekend.

peace.

I loved August Rush. It didn't affect me emotionally as much, but I know exactly what your saying. I watch movies and next thing I know I'm consumed in my memories and thoughts. Music is an amazing way to take yourself back to a time in your past and reminisce.
