New bookmark

Every once in a while I come across a website that I have add to my bookmarks. Well this morning while checking my facebook I “checked” out one of those ads that you see over on the right side. It brought me to the lexus video something website.  That’s where I found oddly enough Found. I heard about this site then forgot about it a while ago. Found. Somewhat like that secrets book that you see at urban outfitters. You know the one where you just read one then you end up spending the afternoon going through it. Well found is about people finding notes and sending them in to this dude. For me this is one of those ideas that I wish I had and followed through on.  I get ideas then never want to take the time to do them…I’m getting off track. Plus.  This dude can tell it better. I’m always looking for bookmark adds so let me know if you have some.

Movie with a friend

Today I saw the epic movie Australia.  If you have ever seen south pacific or west side story or the King and I you would know what I’m talking about when I say epic. I’m a sucker for movies like that.  Even I can get a little emotional sorry Hannah I tried to hide it from you but that kind stuff gets me.  It had a little of everything danger, romance..yeah shut up I liked it.  Here is why I think I like movies like this….its because its a good story. Yup that simple. Of course I could call what was going to happen in a lot of parts but that’s because I watch a  ton of movies.   And for some reason I remember many of the story lines of those movies. Anyway so I saw Australia and liked it.  Hannah is a good movie buddy if you guys are looking for someone to go to the movies with. She always buys popcorn so you can get a little.  Popcorn. Calm down guys. Catch phrase of this movie was “i’ll sing you to me”  Oh and another thing I like Nicole Kidman. I really do.  I cant name one that she’s in that I don’t like. I know many people don’t like her but I’m on your side. Nicole if you are out there look me up. What movies are you embarrassed to say you like?

almost forgot your moment of zen

Awight kids we goin shopp’n

After I finished writing my school stuff at the old Starbucks I stopped by to see my old friend scott ross.  he sells mobile homes. now the only mobile anything i had ever been in are the trailers that every church i think has or the class room i taught in. i was just going to give a howdy do when he said we should take a tour of a couple. i have to admit i wanted to make sure every one knew that i wasnt looking for a mobile home. there is this stigma that has been placed on them. so i make sure i say that i live in a house in pelham. yeah i know pretty lame. anyway it was not what i expected. so to give full disclosure the pictures are below.

yes this is all one house. make you want to buy a mobile home doesnt it. All you need is some land and call my buddy up. In all seriousness this was something. i take it all back. Oh and this was the smaller of the two that we went in.

New Gift

Since Thanksgiving is over many of us will be heading out to do our seasonal shopping. For the three or four of  you who had given me Christmas cards or gift cards or anything else lets do this.  Instead of giving me that gift give it to compassion international and tell me about it.  Compassion is in need of people to give to their unsponsored children’s fund. This can be a one time donation if you already sponsor a child. If don’t sponsor anyone this may be a good opportunity to start. All you have to do is tell me about it and the gift is given.

Cooking in the kitchen w/drew

About 7 years ago Taylor and Tiffany and I started a tradition of having thanksgiving together. It has always been a good time. Some years it has grown to around 11 or 12 people. This year it is back to more manageable size.   Today I had to go to the store because I wanted to make something different this year.  Soup. Butternut squash soup to be exact.  So not  ruin others at the meal table I gave it a go tonight as a sort of trial run.  It all came out fine…to end the suspense. That really isnt why im writing.  Oh and I will not be making it for tomorrow. I dont think the soup is going to fit. I will be making some Parmesan potatoes that I have made before.

Ah yes the reason I’m writing.  While I was walking up and down the aisles looking for my ingredients I started to notice all the food on the shelves.  More food than I think they could possibly sell Lately Ive been trying something different in my diet more about that later. Much later. This change has caused me to examining what I eat, how I eat and how much I eat.  Not as a weight loss thing more of a (at any moment I can walk out my door and buy myself something while others can’t kind of thing.) I can turn on my faucet at any moment and get a drink. It is to the point that I cant even drink bottled water anymore. Does anyone understand what I’m talking about?   I don’t know why this has been on my mind but it has. Weird huh. Well, Mumbai is on fire right now and the cosby show is on and the house is quiet. I have so much.

I still have two compassion child packets if anyone is interest. I’ll try and get those up Monday for you to see.  Elaine was the last one to sponsor. Thanks Elaine.  Taylor also has something going on so you should check it out.

And in honor of John Stewart your moment of Zen

You guys are changing lives today.  Thank you.

So I met this guy

So today was kinda cool. I met the President of Compassion International.   If there are real heroes in the world he would be considered that.  So I got to each lunch with him today and a bunch others. A couple of things that make this guy cool. He loves kids. A bunch of adults walk into the room and who does he talk to the kids in the room.  Then when we choose where to sit he finds the smallest table and heads straight to it.  Then after dinner we sit in a circle in the living room. We all take our soft plush chairs and this guy grabs the folding chair. Now don’t get me wrong he isn’t Jesus.  What he is, is a guy who tries to be as humble as possible.  I asked him what its like when he visits a compassion project. He told me that he sometimes doesn’t tell them he’s coming so they don’t make a big deal about it.  He describe his company as an up side down triangle with him at the bottom. That’s pretty cool.  Also told him we became facebook friends the other day. His look told me he didnt know what I was talking about.  I will continue to think that we are facebook friends.

edit: Wes is my friend. Confirmed that today.
